October 15, 2024GESCRAP receives UK Government funding under the PIVOT Project

The PIVOT Project (Performance Integrated Vehicle Optimisation Technology), in which GESCRAP has joined Aston Martin, Altair, Sarginsons Industries and Brunel University with our UK subsidiary GES Recycling Ltd, has been selected to receive funding from the UK Government. £5.8 million for a project that, led by Sarginsons Industries, aims to create lighter and more sustainable vehicle components.

At PIVOT, we will develop pilot lines for the processing of new and old aluminium scrap, implement improved collection and traceability concepts and apply our knowledge and expertise to make the entire value chain sustainable, achieving a significant reduction of the carbon footprint.

‘For GESCRAP this project reinforces our proven competence in aluminium circularity and opens up new business potentials’, says Lander Ordonez, GESCRAP UK Country Manager.

‘The opportunity to cooperate with leading companies and universities confirms and reinforces our strategy for service and product excellence with focus on circular economy,’ adds Javier Cervera, COO of the GESCRAP group.
